Already highly ranked amongst Mayfair's celeb-thronged member's venues, Maddox Club has upped the ante on competitors Pangaea, Mahiki and The Cuckoo Club by opening a restaurant. Owned by Fred Moss, purveyor of several other London venues and kitted out by Samy Chams, also an old hand at the club scene, Maddox's culinary venture is set to prove as exclusively popular as the bar.
Hovering above the rarefied air of the ground floor bar and accessed via an ethereal glass staircase, the space is a lush blend of tactile surfaces and shadowy ambience. Glowing light fixtures and curvy leather booths ensure a snug-but-glam atmosphere and the Italian menu is as equally well balanced.
Chic dishes such as roast sea bass with guazetto of seafood and beloved desserts including tiramisu and pannacotta are as pleasing as the balmy air on the terrace.
